The American pop star Stefani Germanotta aka ‘Lady Gaga’ is putting her bright red Rolls-Royce on auction this month so the money could go to the charity. The Corniche – featuring a 6.6 litre engine and an interior made of walnut wood – is the only car ever owned by the superstar. This wonderful car is said to go under auction on 17th of May at Julien’s Auctions of California, and the estimated starting bid is £17,847. This whole week, Rolls-Royce Corniche will be available to the spectators at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.
This three-speed two-door car with 6.6 litre engine was made by Rolls-Royce back in 1990 and ‘Lady Gaga’ bought it five years ago, vehicle’s title certificate is also in her name – Stefani Germanotta – and her father, Joseph. It was developed on Silver Shadow that had two-door variations marketed as the Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward fixed head coupe and drop head coupe. It was the continuation of Silver Shadow coupe made in 1965 and the Drophead in 1967, it was year 1971 when Rolls-Royce first adopted the name Corniche. One fact about this car is that it was also sold by other names like Bentley which, in 1984, was named the Continental. All the money from this car’s auction will go to a charity for struggling artists under the name MusiCares. It sure is a noble thing ‘Lady Gaga’ doing.
