VW UK boss called back by the Transport Select Committee to answer more questions on the emission scandal of Volkswagen.
He will again face the questions from MPs for the second time, first time, he was appeared before the committee in October last year.
It is expected that VW boss will be asked about the emission scandal aftermaths, such as the compensation and or the technical fixes that will be offered to the affected cars in the country.
Volkswagen previously has said that the company will compensate the owners of affected vehicles but the mode of compensation was not confirmed because the compensation itself is a broad term. In this session of questions, the committee will also ask about the potential compensation packages offered to the UK owners.
In a recent statement by the Louise Ellman MP, he said that in the light of information provided by the VW, committee had agreed to call back Willis for another round of questioning.
The committee has published a letter received from Willis, in which he refuses the chance of any compensation. He said that the company will not be providing any compensation to the UK owners as the VW believes that those funds will be better used for technical fixes.
He said in a statement that the VW believes in fixing the problem around the corner, so the goodwill payment should be better spent on technical measures for the customers.
He also said that the company doesn’t believe, it is necessary to give compensation to the UK owners as no customers will then pay big tax bills because of higher carbon emissions.
