The Vision S concept offers the hybrid powertrain. It includes a 1.4-litre petrol engine of 154 bhp and 184lb-ft of torque with a 54bhp electric motor capable of developing 152lb-ft mounted within the six-speed DSG gearbox housing.
A second 114bhp electric motor is located on the rear axle, giving a combined system output of 222bhp and providing the VisionS a so-called ‘smart’ four-wheel drive system and it don’t require any type of mechanical couplings.
Skoda reveals that the VisionS reaches 62mph in 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 124mph. CO2 emissions are rated at 45g/km and it lies in the rank of cleanest vehicles. The VisionS is a very capable of going up to 31 miles on electric power. It renders the combined traveling distance of 621 miles. As with most electric and hybrid vehicles, drivers can choose the VisionS on electric power, or trigger the petrol engine to support the advancement and recharge the battery.
Skoda VisionS concept will take the three rows of seats, offering a lot of space for six passengers and their luggage. The VisionS is more powerful and wider than the Kia Sorrento, taking the 4700mm long by 1910mm wide, with a height of 1680mm, making itself longer, wider and lower. In the form of production, Skoda SUV will be pitched as an upmarket rival to the Sorrento and its sister model, Hyundai’s Santa Fe.
There is no officially information about the name of Skoda, but it is expected that it will be called Lodiaq namely. It shows the price almost £24,000, when it goes on the sale in the UK next year. That price may neatly damages its rivals like Kia and Hyundai, which start at £28,795 and £31,845 respectively.
