The world has evolved into a global village and since the technology is growing on a rapid pace and businesses are adapting smartphones as their preferred way of dealing. This boom has ultimately triggered the businesses to develop mobile apps for quick access.
Every time you filled up your car, you had to pay the cash or swipe your credit or debit cards, but now thanks to oil giant Shell and PayPay: they have developed an app to pay for fuel directly from your smartphone.
Initially, this app is going to be rolled out in April this year to 1,000 customers in Shell Drivers’ Club using either iOS or Android-based smartphones. In order for this service to work, you need to have either PayPal or Shell Motorist App installed on your smartphone.
The working of this system is pretty simple, once you pull over to the forecourt, you need to select one of the corresponding pumps on the app, authenticate the payment and fill her up.
Once you are done an automatic receipt will be sent to your phone letting you know the payment was successful and you are good to go it is as simple as that.
After the successful trial run, this system is expected to be rolled out nationwide and most of the Shell service station will offer this wonderful technology by late 2015.
Shell Retail Marketing Manager, Michael Hominick said that they are committed to provide safe and fast services to their valued customers and thus have worked with London Fire Brigade to make sure it stays this way. You can safely use this technology on your smartphone to pay directly from your car without having to leave your car when it is parked and stationary.
