Paris Motor Show starting from Thursday 4th of October comprises a list of most inspired concepts and new models of vehicles making their first public appearance at the show. Honda Civic Type R is one of those many making their debut at the show. The new Civic Type R gives the impression of being a production model which is planned to go on sale in UK from 2015.
There was another Civic Type R concept unveiled at Geneva Motor Show last year and this new one is the follow-up of previous concept. This concept has some changes in styling and dynamics from that of shown at Geneva Motor Show. This is the first concept that shows some technical details as well, but it is still subjected to significant development to make it the fastest front wheeler to go around the Nürburgring. Currently, Renault Megane Trophy holds the record with lap time of seven minutes and 54.3 seconds.
The all new Civic Type R will be driven by a 2.0 Litre i-VTEC turbocharged petrol engine. It is a next generation Honda Engine with earth dreams technology. Honda did not say anything about power other than saying, “it will be more than 276bhp” while the insiders told that the new engine is tuned up to develop more than 300bhp. It will turn out a muscular torque of 300lb-ft from only 2000rpm.
Honda said that the new Civic Type R will offer a sensational driving experience that will be unmatched by any previous Type R. It is the next generation Type R that delivers the optimal performance from an unrivalled engine with raw power, torque and response time.
