The indirect successor to Mercedes SLS, a true mega car has been launched in UK. The new 2015 Mercedes AMG GT supercar is available to order now, with prices starting at £97,195 and going all the way up to £122,745. The new GT has a brand new turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, a stunning design and an inspired silhouette. It will become the flagship Mercedes sports car for Mercedes and will rival Porsche 911 Turbo and Jaguar F-Type R.
The Mercedes AMG GT was officially revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014 and now the full list of the AMG GT has been published. The first models coming to the UK will be the 503bhpGT-S and Edition 1, starting at £110,495 and £122,745 respectively. They will be delivered to customers in April 2015.
The Mercedes AMG GT options include a ceramic composite braking system, at £5,995, and a Premium Pack with a reversing camera, a panoramic sunroof, a 640W Burmester sound system and keyless start. This will set you back £4,195. The new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine has been fitted in all the versions. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with the GT S able to hit the 62mph in 3.8 seconds and the GT taking two-tenths longer.
The flagship Edition 1, on sale with theGT-S, offers a more exclusive styling package to buyers, as well as some extra equipment. The AMG GT is also equipped with leather-trimmed AMG sports seats with contrast stitching and a textured ‘black diamond’ centre console trim. Mercedes AMG GT buyers can further boost performance of their car through the fitment of optional Michelin PilotSport Cup 2 tyres.
