Fast and Furious 7

This new instalment has wrecked ever more cars than its earlier episodes and this time Lykan HyperSport and the Bugatti Veyron also get the F&F treatment

The seventh instalment of famous super-fast cars chase “ The Fast & The Furious” which started in 2001 has become one of the most successful movie franchises. In the latest instalment, 230 vehicles were destroyed whereas the total number of cars used in this movie is 340 cars. The majority of these are never going to hit the roads ever again.

You will see these cars jumping out of the planes wearing the parachute, racing off ramps or even having head-on collisions with each other. This time, only about 10 percent of the stunts were carried out with the help of computers, the rest of the 90 percent were done in real. Most of these modified cars were powered by a 500 horsepower fuel injection engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission to keep things simple.

The price of each piece is around £2.3 million, making it the most expensive car to feature in the Fast & Furious film.

For the movie, Dennis McCarthy the man who modified all the vehicles made six exact copies fabricated from fibreglass and Porsche Boxster chassis using the molds lent by W Motors.

the shot above the Arizona desert, it was one of the most spectacular stunts which used 5 cars including the signature car of Dominic Toretto and the modified 1970 Dodge Charger. In this scene, the cars were dropped out of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules plane where one out of nine examples of Charger was dropped from a height of 12,000 ft whereas the other one was from 8,000 ft. These cars were attached to military-grade parachutes to ensure the safety of the vehicles, thus most of the vehicles survived.
