All new Land Rover Discovery Sport combines a premium interior with an ability to go anywhere. The New Land Rover Discovery Sport is a very capable and practical 4×4 and is set to dominate the market after the production of Freelander will be stopped. It will go on sale in the latter half of 2016. Sources said that the new Land Rover Discovery Sport design will be very similar to the Evoque which has been a real success for Land Rover in the past.
It will serve as an alternative choice to the customers considering Audi Q5 or BMW X3. The new Land Rover Discovery Sport will be initially offered in diesel only option which is the same as the Freelander. This Land Rover engine has a claimed average of 46mpg and will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission or you can ask for a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive configuration.
However later in 2015, a fuel efficient eD4 version will be introduced which will emit only 119g/km of CO2. The fuel economy will also go up to 61 miles per gallon on average.
The entry level model is expected to be offered at £30,000. The 2016 model will be offered with more fuel efficient engines. Its first performance test was carried out in Iceland. However, its 2.2 litre engine cranks 187bhp from diesel and it is similar to the Evoque. The Land Rover Discovery proved itself smooth and strong on icy roads.
