Mercedes-Benz G-Code

G-Code is not a code for CNC programing, it is a new Supermini-SUV bandwagon from Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an all new Supermini concept called the G-Code concept. It is reported as a match in size to the Audi Q1 but rivalling to the Q1. It is a strong indication towards Mercedes-Benz development strategy for building future models and shows how serious they are regarding their lead.

Mercedes-Benz styling Chief Gordon Wagener said in a report, “The G-Code is both beautiful and intelligent, and interprets our typical Mercedes Coupe design idiom.” The all new G-Code design features several wild looks and cutting edge technologies to show what the Mercedes-Benz next generation of SUVs offering.

Driving it is total fun as it changes colour of grille according to the driving mode. When the car is at rest, its grille shows the exciting blue illumination, gives a wonderful sight. it then switches to blue moving stars as the car gets into motion, surprisingly these stars turn into red as the speed accelerates. Similarly, the colours vary when driver selects the Hybrid sport mode.

The all new G-Code has the size same as Nissan Juke but a bit shorter than a Skoda Yeti. It has a design cue that features the BMW X6 rivalling GLE Coupe. Including the plug-in Hybrid, it has three driving modes, an all-wheel driving mode is also available. It features a digital prop shaft driving system to facilitate the switching between front and rear drive modes. It has space for four people and there is no B-Pillar just like Ford B-Max. Although the rear seats don’t offer capacious legroom space for passengers but it is not bad for occasional use. Its ignition starts when driver docks its smartphone into the dash.

This concept is introduced by the Mercedes-Benz’s new design studio in China, but it is not confirmed that the SUV will be introduced in Europe in the future.
