According to the details of the decision, Jaguar Land Rover has revealed that the company is looking forward to double the engine production plant in Wolverhampton, UK.
The decision has been taken in the light of increasing demands for Jaguar Land Rover upcoming models. It will bring hundreds of new jobs for the locals and will have positive impact on the UK economy in the long-term.
The current production capacity of the Wolverhampton plant that develops Jaguar Land Rover’s Ingenium diesel engines, the Jaguar XE, F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Evoque will be built with these Ingenium diesel engines.

The current production capacity of the plant stands at the 50,000 units of engines. It employs almost 700 people to run the plant. The further recruitment is underway for the increasing production capacity.
Jaguar Land Rover highlights that its current plant will expand to 200,000 square metre after the current increase of size. It has an investment worth of £1 billion. The authorities at JLR highlighted that they are keen to develop the most vibrant, diverse and the largest engine production facility in the UK.
JLR has also announced that the company will earn lower profits than expected because of the plant expansion investment plan. It is important to mention that JLR has earned record pre-tax profits of £2.61bn in 2014-15.
