The German car makers are indulging into the latest trend of sub-branding, take Mercedes-Benz for example which is bringing the Maybach back to the S-Class with mighty engine as model designation of its top of the class range, same happened with the Audi when it brought the TT into new line, not to mention the BMW with its electric vehicles in i-series. After the record success of Volkswagen engine, Volkswagen is now planning to bring more models into its retro family including the Beetle.
Ever since the first Beetle was made, it is the third generation and now is the time for Volkswagen to expand its family of Beetle convertible and hatchback to the newest member Beetle coupe which is based on the Beetle Dune concept.
It is hoped that the new member will also enjoy all the fruits that its ancestors have enjoyed and it that does happens, which most of the world believes would, then who knows Volkswagen could add new members to its family. There are words that the entire family including the next generation Beetle would use its new MQB modular architecture that has already been used by the Audi A3, Skoda Octavia, VW Golf and Seat Leon.
