The Toyota has used high-tech platform for its fourth generation Prius hybrid, the model has set a new benchmark of ECO friendliness and will have carbon emissions of 70g/km, and the Toyota Prius hybrid will offer 90mpg of fuel that makes it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the hybrid category. The fourth-generation Toyota Prius will hit the market early in 2016 and go for the public debut in the coming Frankfurt Motor Show taking place in Germany this month.
The Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform has enabled this model to set a new record of “fuel economy”. It is first time when Toyota Hybrid Prius has used state of the art TNGA platform. This new platform has made a choice for the engineers to bring significant improvement in fuel economy and CO2 emissions. It has been found that the new Toyota Prius hybrid will deliver better fuel economy on the motorway.
It is expected that the fourth-generation Toyota Prius hybrid is coming up with the 1.8-litre petrol engine with a separate electric power unit to drive the rear wheel and downsized electric motor. But it is important to note that “e-4WD” system will work only at the speed of up to 37mph. Nickel-metal hybrid battery is another salient feature of the fourth generation Toyota Prius-hybrid which increases charging time.
The advantages and benefits of the fourth-generation Toyota Prius hybrid are not only limited to fuel efficiency and carbon emissions instead designers have given a complete new look to the model. The model has vertical taillights and huge swept back headlamps and it has a more aerodynamic look than its predecessors. Apart from that Toyota has added a new steering wheel design.
The prices of the fourth-generation Toyota Prius hybrid models will start from £25,000, the increase of prices is because of sophisticated mechanical packages and other cool features.
