Jaguar is about to introduce a series of high performance cars to rival the BMW M-Series and Mercedes-AMG in the near future the XE Edition is one of them.
Propped up by one of the most modern product line-up in the industry, XE will join the newest F-Pace crossover and second generation of XF by the end of this year. Jaguar is looking to produce a crown edition to appeal the customers in the market.
Jaguar is looking to boost its brand equity with these performance cars just like the M3 is doing for BMW or the C63 has helped Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Jaguar will launch the XE with a range of Ingenium engines and the fastest will be the supercharged V6 S. it will produce 335bhp, similar as of the entry level F-Type. There will be a diesel version also available which will offer 237bhp of power and a torque of 369lb-ft from a V6. The XF is already using this Jaguar engine.
For more power and performance, there is F-Type S with more powerful V6 engine but it still cannot beat the M3’s power output.
Jaguar is planning to slot in a V8 from F-type roadster to XE-R. It will crank out 488bhp of power and slash down the 0-62 miles per hour time well under 5.0 seconds.
It is confirmed by the sources that the V8 can easily be fitted in the XE. Like the Ford sourced upright engines which are actually difficult to fit in the XE like vehicles, Jaguar’s own Ingenium four cylinder engines are also facing the same issues when it comes to the four cylinder diesel.
The XE-R will possibly be priced to match the M3 and it is likely to start from £55,000.
