The answer is short yet simple: £150,000 gone in blink of an eye. At this weekend, one unfortunate owner of Lamborghini witnessed the most dreadful event of his life, when he watched his beautiful Superleggera burn down to ashes right in front of his eyes. This ill-fated incident took place on Saturday morning on the A41 near Kings Langley, UK and by the time fire-fighters reached the scene, the Lambo was blazing in flames.
Luckily the driver managed to get out of the vehicle right before the flames completely engulfed Superleggera. One eye witness told that the car suddenly lit up and before anyone could do anything, it was completely swallowed by the fire and it moments the only thing left was a smouldering wreck and some engine parts.
The fire was so huge that the authorities had to close both lanes of the northbound carriageway while fire-fighters worked on extinguishing the fire. As the fire extinguished, lane two was opened for the traffic but lane one remained closed for the Highways Agency to make the repairs to the charred road surface.
Andrew Dawson, spokesman for Herts Fire told the media that they received a call about a car on fire at 8.48 am on Saturday and the location was A41, half a mile north of the M25. They saw a sports supercar covered in flames right on the roadway when they reached there. The firemen immediately started their work and put the furious fire out. Driver of the vehicle was already out and well on his feet; no ambulance was required on the scene.
The police immediately took traffic control measures and assisted in closing the road to prevent any further damages. At 9.30 am when the fire had been put out, the lane two was reopened for the traffic to move on.
