The Maserati is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and what would a party be without all the goodies – a GranTurismo perhaps but how – and the answers is pretty simple and plain, the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition. That’s not all – this pure hotness, dressed in magma red or Inchiostro blue, will be available in both forms, the convertible and the coupe.
The Centennial model is based on the MC Stradale which is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine and both of these convertible and coupe models will also be sharing the same engine. After receiving a bump of 10 bhp in power, the resulting output is 454 bhp and this powerplant will pair with a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. This highly efficient engine will get the beauty to a top speed of 185 mph, and to stop this raging monster, dual cast Brembo brakes and a sport-tuned MC suspension comes standard.
As the Centennial Edition is very special so it gets special treats like two new colour combination never offered before are: Magma Red and Inchiostro Blue, rest of the colours are the same as of GranTurismo MC Stradale. Four new complementary wheel finishes will be offered in Centennial Edition in MC and Trofeo Designs which is featuring Maserati’s medal shaped centenary logo on the centre caps.
The interior of this 100th anniversary model has got some custom touches and tweaks like the seats now feature contrasting decorative inserts in three colours: red, blue and white, same are the colours of seat profiles. The dashboard is also now featuring seat surrounds, carbon fibre inserts and a kick plate boasting centenary logo.
The pricing of the MC Centennial Edition convertible and coupe will be announced later as these cars will go on sale in July this year.
