The 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine in New Ford Focus RS delivers 316bhp via 4WD

The wait is finally over. Geneva motor show 2015 is the place where highly anticipated mega hatch, the new Ford Focus RS has been revealed. The best part? Four wheel drive set-up with over 316bhp from all-new Ford Ecoboost engine.

At the Detroit Motor Show this year, Ford GT has earned huge positive response and this urged Ford to do something fascinating with RS. The result is extremely wild, with a wide nose and wheel-arches, this new Focus RS has everything to give you supercar thrills in an aggressive stance.

This new model will go on sale early next year. Vehicles wearing this legendary RS badge come a long way from 15M RS, first built in 1968, to Escort RS1600, Escort RS Cosworth, Sierra RS Cosworth and two previous Ford Focus RS models. The brilliance of Ford in the field of racer vehicles is next to none, this new Focus RS comes with the ability to transfer 70% power to the rear wheels and even to one wheel for out of the world drifting experience.

To give RS the ideal traction, Ford’s Performance division decided to give it something special, a sophisticated four wheel drive system to rival Mercedes A45 AMG and Audi RS3. Driver involvement and higher level of performance was the aim which ultimately led to the design of this new four-wheel drive system.

So what best you get from Focus RS is its new twin-clutch four-wheel drive system which is electronically controlled for prime accuracy. And when you engage the ‘drift’ function, you get something you have never experienced before. Yes! Up to 70% of pure ragging power sent straight to the rear wheels and 100% of torque focusing on one individual wheel. What it gives you a wonderful steering response and torque vectoring to keep the car stable and safe when going through the bends.

The second best thing is the reduction of this new four-wheel drive system which is only of 20kg. The Dynamic Torque Vectoring system of new RS Focus is so impressive that it has literally put Revo Knuckle out of business.

The 2.3 litre Ford EcoBoost engine delivers 316bhp, but there are strong possibilities that the power will go up in the near future. A six-speed manual is fitted in as standard.
