Almost a week ago, Lamborghini showed its impressive design of 5-95 Zagato at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and reports about the production of this fascination shows that the new Zagato is likely to hit the production line-up with a limited production run planned.
It is not a new thing for auto enthusiasts because every time a concept car or working concept breaks the dawn, there are always reports asserting that it could get to the production line-up. However this time the news is somehow dubious because Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato is not any casual vehicle but a special super car which is specially customised and tuned for someone special, a very special collector: Albert Spies.
Known for some unique Lamborghinis and several Zagato bodied cars and several Aston Martins, Albert Spies specially made the eminent coachbuilder’s pen and lifted a one-off, modern collectible. It’s hard to believe that Spies would decide to see his fleet multiplied or just be happy with a light green Lamborghini with a limited run. On the introduction of this new light green beauty, it made quite an impact with its very unique and gorgeous looks, but one thing is clear that the possible production run will ruin some of its unique features and appeal.
This doesn’t indicate that Lamborghini can’t intrude with a little Gallardo framework to produce something parallel. Basically a redesigned Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4, the 5-95 Zagato is powered by the well-known 5.2-litre, V10 engine of 570 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. The exclusive carbon-fibre body is the effort of Stephane Schwarz, who was the design director at Nissan Europe.
If Lamborghini plans to undergo with its plans it will mean a limited run of 5-95 Zagatos will add some attractive profits into the company’s reserves.
