Audi has finally revealed the details of the new A8, coming with new styling directions, advanced technologies, electric turbochargers and of course, new Audi engines. The flagship saloon will tackle the Mercedes-Benz S-Class in the luxury segment with its new revolutionary technologies.
It will also be the first ever model from Audi which will showcase the designing language of the Prologue concept.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, the technical development chief of Audi has told the media that the A8 will be the next-generation of the modern cars. The next level of advancement will be shown in the Audi A8.
Along with the new engines and modern technologies, Audi has also confirmed that the revolutionary piloted driving technology will be introduced in the Audi A8. It has long-range radar system, twelve ultra-sonic sensors and laser scanners.
High-resolution video cameras to assist the driver and monitor the surroundings of the car. This system can also guide the vehicle through traffic jams even at the speed of 37mph.
Audi believes that the electronic sector is responsible for more than 90 percent of advancement in modern vehicles. Relatively new Matrix LED technology is already part of Audi vehicles, but they are about to move the game on future with the integration of organic LED lights. Hackenberg thinks that, in this premium segment, A8 will provide the platform for futuristic technologies.
