The world has seen the greatest scandal of the auto history in the shape of VW’s diesel gate scandal. It was revealed that automobile giant had installed cheating device in its EA 189 engine which affected 11 million vehicles worldwide. The Group has to face £1.2 billion loss in its earnings, on top of it £4.8 billion has been devoted to cover the loss.
The financial experts estimate further declines in sales and profits of the VW Group. It portrays the gloomy picture for the Group in the future but the Group CEO Matthias Muller has announced a 5-point plan to fix the scam.
The CEO has high hopes with his five-point plan that he will be able to fix the scam, although no details have been given about the VW compensation plans so far.
However, the CEO has showed his anger and discomfort towards the people who were involved in developing and installing cheating devices in the diesel engines.
The top management has shown its commitment to uncover the truth and is looking forward to welcome the future. It is notable that Toyota has beaten Volkswagen in terms of sales because of the recent diesel gate scam.
Toyota has attained the top spot of car sales globally. The company has sold 7.5 million units year-to-date whereas VW stays at 7.43 million unit sold.
